Without literally reproducing theinterior columns they set the scene for an almost overwhelming displayof columnar interior architecture. Their conical capitals, circular stemsand concrete materiality make an unambiguous connection (see Fig.5.16). At each end of the building, two levels of colonnades set withinexterior walls connect to the interior structure even more explicitly.
