They were chosen according to their locations at the historical edges of urbandevelopment. These edges now correspond with primary and secondary streets. The sampleincludes sectors constructed at different times, from 1950 to the present. Every building wasevaluated for common pathologies affecting facades, materials, interference with urbaninfrastructure and environmental conditions.To develop the evaluation guide, 50 buildings were chosen for qualitative evaluation to detectthe most important factors to register in the auditing process. In addition, a system to qualifydeterioration was developed using variables of time, building use and construction type. Then750 buildings were selected and evaluated on three principal north-south streets and twosecondary east-west streets.To predict the preliminary deterioration of facades, information was processed statistically tofind different functions with respect to the variables chosen and to time. The calibrationprocess of the model has begun. Detailed instrumentation is being used to fit the model to thedata for every period of time, use and construction type.In addition, the process of evaluation of the internal deterioration for selected buildings hasbegun.
