To attach a file, click on <strong>the</strong> Attach link. You will <strong>the</strong>n access a dialogue<br />

page where you can make more specific settings before uploading<br />

<strong>the</strong> file.<br />

For instance, you can enter a comment or determine that a file<br />

will be attached in “hidden” mode, so that it is not indicated on <strong>the</strong><br />

page as being attached. It can still be integrated into <strong>the</strong> page. However,<br />

<strong>the</strong> advantage is that at <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> page, it does not appear<br />

in an attachment table. If you activate <strong>the</strong> “Link” option, it enables<br />

<strong>the</strong> attached image to be viewed in <strong>the</strong> editable text of <strong>the</strong> page. If it<br />

is not an image file, a simple link to <strong>the</strong> file is established.<br />

Generally, any type of file can be uploaded. However, if <strong>the</strong> files<br />

are program files that might pose a risk, TWiki disarms <strong>the</strong>m by<br />

adding an additional .txt, for instance to <strong>the</strong> name of a .php file.<br />

Caution: You can limit <strong>the</strong> size of <strong>the</strong> attachment in <strong>the</strong> variable<br />

%ATTACHFILESIZELIMIT% on <strong>the</strong> page TWikiPreferences. The<br />

default value is set to 10000 KB. Larger files are not recommended<br />

anyway, since loading time would be considerably slowed or a<br />

timeout produced. For such cases, use an FTP site.<br />

When you return to <strong>the</strong> page view, you will see <strong>the</strong> following table<br />

on <strong>the</strong> bottom, unless <strong>the</strong> file was hidden when uploaded:<br />

Here, anyone having authorization to edit <strong>the</strong> topic has <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />

to download <strong>the</strong> file. In addition, you can use <strong>the</strong> Manage link<br />

to access a page in which all important settings regarding <strong>the</strong> at-<br />
