Cygwin<br />

To manually install Cygwin from <strong>the</strong> Internet, proceed as follows:<br />

� Start <strong>the</strong> file setup.exe on <strong>the</strong> CD in <strong>the</strong> cygwin directory.<br />

� Select “Install from Internet.”<br />

� You <strong>the</strong>n have to indicate <strong>the</strong> installation directory.<br />

� Make sure that <strong>the</strong> “Default Text File Type” is set to “Unix.”<br />

Cygwin should also be set up for all users.<br />

� Enter <strong>the</strong> directory in which <strong>the</strong> installation files are to be<br />

stored. You now must supply some information regarding your<br />

Internet connection and <strong>the</strong>n select a server from <strong>the</strong> list from<br />

which <strong>the</strong> source files are to be retrieved.<br />

� You will see a selection window in which you can indicate <strong>the</strong><br />

components to be installed. A few files are already marked, but<br />

you will also have to mark a few manually. The following table<br />

shows <strong>the</strong> programs which you will need for <strong>the</strong> setup and operation<br />

of TWiki described here and which thus need to be<br />

marked for selection. You can tell that an entry is selected by<br />

<strong>the</strong> fact that, instead of “n/a”, a version number will appear in<br />

<strong>the</strong> line.<br />
