The Tools<br />

On <strong>the</strong> left side of <strong>the</strong> interface, <strong>the</strong>re is a toolbar offering <strong>the</strong> following<br />

functions:<br />

Icon <strong>Function</strong><br />

Selects, moves and edits <strong>the</strong> clicked object.<br />

Inserts text.<br />

Inserts text and attaches it to <strong>the</strong> object.<br />

Draws a rectangle.<br />

Draws a rectangle with rounded corners.<br />

Draws an ellipse.<br />

Draws a line.<br />

Creates a connection between two objects.<br />

Creates an elbow connection.<br />

Draws a polygon; <strong>the</strong> corners are created by mouse<br />

clicks.<br />

Enables freehand drawing.<br />

Decorates <strong>the</strong> clicked object with a frame.<br />

Adds a link to <strong>the</strong> clicked object.<br />

The last function listed in <strong>the</strong> table needs some explaining. In order<br />

to turn a figure, for instance a circle, into a so-called hot spot, that<br />

is, to supply it with a link, click on <strong>the</strong> URL icon in <strong>the</strong> toolbox and<br />

<strong>the</strong>n mark <strong>the</strong> desired object. A small input window opens in which<br />

you can enter <strong>the</strong> URL or page name. When you leave <strong>the</strong> window<br />

by simply clicking on ano<strong>the</strong>r spot in <strong>the</strong> drawing window, <strong>the</strong> path<br />

of <strong>the</strong> link will appear in red. However, this label is no longer visible<br />

in <strong>the</strong> page view.<br />

Note: If you wish to edit or remove <strong>the</strong> link, you must once again<br />

activate <strong>the</strong> icon and <strong>the</strong>n click on <strong>the</strong> red path. In <strong>the</strong> input box, you<br />

can edit <strong>the</strong> link. This applies to text boxes as well.<br />
