Marika Apostolova Trpkovska, M-r.; Burim Ismaili, BsC.Hypothesis and Predicted BenefitsThe main hypothesis is based on the belief that each student at <strong>SEEU</strong>should receive a mini laptop which will provide the opportunity for easyaccess to course materials, making quality presentations, communicatingwith faculty and other students, conducting research, and pursuingknowledge. If the students have laptops, the professors will be able tosupport the learning and teaching process, applying some advanced learningtechnologies. Whenever the laptops are appropriate to use, the faculty staffare trained and ready to in<strong>vol</strong>ve this facilitation of the learning and teachingprocess.We further believe that this is another way to make the relationshipbetween our higher institution and students better. This initiative will supportthe improvement of the learning process and it is a great opportunity tomarket this <strong>University</strong>.If the effectiveness of giving every student a laptop could be measured inenthusiasm, the results would surely show success and would improve theeducation process.In this Award proposal, we intend to analyze and evaluate the supposedbenefits of students having individual laptops, in terms of increasingengagement of students in their class work, easy access to learning resourcesand production of project and assessment work. We also plan to examinewhether there are differences between <strong>SEEU</strong> Faculties.MethodologyIn order to do this, we employed several methods to achieve thegoal of this research. During this experimental period, we usedquestionnaires, personal interviews and an audit of student projectsand work to make an evaluation. Also, we investigated the students’use and perceptions which focused on their experiences and opinionsabout <strong>SEEU</strong> IT background.116
