<strong>SEEU</strong> <strong>Review</strong> Volume 6, No. 2, 2010The evaluation methods (em) used are presented below:1em. An online questionnaire was e-mailed to third yearundergraduate students from <strong>South</strong> <strong>East</strong> <strong>European</strong> <strong>University</strong>and it was completed by 250 participants from all <strong>SEEU</strong>faculties. The questionnaire included 17 questions sufficient topoint to the student’s expectations, preferences and opinionsabout various aspects of IT use in <strong>SEEU</strong> which can supply onproving our goal.2em. A paper questionnaire was given to 100 students from thePublic Administration, Teacher Training and Computer ScienceDepartments in May 2010 in order to extract the student beliefsregarding the possible benefits of using laptops for educationalneeds.3em. An experiment done during a make-up exam session for thecourses offered by the Computer Center, done in February 2010with 5 students from the Contemporary Science andTechnology Faculty.4em. An experiment done with 23 Computer Science studentsenrolled on a Desktop Publishing course during the springsemester 2010 in order to extract the benefits of using laptopsduring teaching and learning sessions.5em. Experimentation done with two groups of students from theComputer Science and Business Informatics direction inDecember 2009 in order to analyze and compare the outcomesof teaching with and without IT facilities.6em. Research done with Public Administration and TeacherTraining students on a IT-Skills Fundamentals course in March2010 with the intention of exploring students’ IT potential.7em. One more experiment done with community secondary schoolstudents enrolled on the Computer Center program: IT forCommunity during this spring semester 2010 with the aim ofconfirming that the laptops contributed to easy and professionalresponses to each practical task assigned during teachingsessions.Below are presented in more detail the above evaluations, withrecommendations concerning benefits and funding that could be consideredby the Faculties and the <strong>University</strong> for future budgeting and decisionmaking.117
