<strong>SEEU</strong> <strong>Review</strong> Volume 6, No. 2, 2010ConclusionBased on this research, we have concluded that:By working in small groups, classes become more student-centered;By working in small groups, the interactivity among the students isgreater;Team work is promoted by working in small groups;Students develop their critical thinking skills by working in smallgroups;Students’ ability to communicate and express concepts is developedby working in small groups;Learning outcomes are better when working in small groups;The students’ attendance to practical sessions improves whenworking in small groups;Group work motivates students to do more exercises and homework;Students prefer more to work in small groups.The students were more committed and had better resultsProposalTeaching, lectures and exercises should be performed in such a waythat ensures small group work;Classes should be student-centered;Students should also be in<strong>vol</strong>ved in teaching;Small group work should be applicable in any subject;Students should also take a placement test in mathematics prior toenrolling in the subject, the same as with English language and theresults used to allocate levels for Maths and teaching methodology;We recommend greater cooperation with the gymnasium and theeconomic secondary schools because most of the students in thisFaculty come from these two secondary schools.169
