Characterization and molecular cloning of abovine lentivirus related to human immunodeficiency virus.Nature 1987;330, 388-391.- - - - -Evidence Against SimiansLEN: What about simian monkey viruses? Why do they havescientists throughout the world claiming HIV is a simian monkeytype of virus?ROBERT: Because they get money for that. You know. . . . Here.. . send more money. Let me tell you about the simian AIDSvirus.First off, how does simian AIDS virus work? It produces aprotein that causes AIDS in simians, and it's very easy to make avaccine against a protein. And that's actually a derivative of theMason Phizer monkey virus, which is another laboratorycreation. . . another man-made virus made in the lab which was asimian virus that was being used for various things. It will causeAIDS in apes, but it doesn't do it [like HIV]; it does it by makinga protein that wipes out their immune system.LEN: Is it also a specific T-cell destroyer?ROBERT: No. . . . The virus produces a protein, and the proteinmesses up the immune system. And it's very easy to make avaccine against a protein. But AIDS works entirely differently. Itwipes out the T-cells and works inside of macrophages. . . . Itinhibits the processing plant. AIDS is really a problem ofmacrophages, not of lymphocytes. . . . The virus makes themacrophage dysfunction. What really is supposed to happen is that the macrophage issupposed to chop up the virus and present it to the T4 cell[thymus-derived cells] for the production of delayed immunity, and then to the B [bone-marrow-derived] cell for antibodies. Butwhat happens is that the macrophage can't process it.
