They began to buyand sell, purchasing muslin to clothe their bodies.The Khvarizmshah stopped them, ordering themto be put to death, and forcing payment from therest of them. The Mongols went humbly beforetheir king, saying, “They have killed us.” Theirking asked for ten days, and then entered a deepcave where he fasted and humbled himself.
