FIHI MA FIHI V 409expounds this, for “therein are clear signs”—inother words, upon this road We have given waymarks.If anyone tries to destroy any of thesesigns, everyone will attack them, saying, “Why doyou destroy the road for us? Why do you worktoward our destruction? Are you a highway robber?”Know that Mohammed is the guide. God says,“Until you first come to Mohammed you cannotreach Us.” This is like when you decide to gosomewhere; thought leads the way, saying, “Go tothis place, it is in your best interests.” After thatyour eyes act as a guide, and then your limbsbegin to move, all in that order. But the limbshave no knowledge of eyes, nor the eyes ofthought.Though some people are forgetful, other peopledo not forget them. But if you work hard inpursuit of this world, you forget your real concern.You must seek God’s approval, not theapproval of society.
