discourse 65Those who are living in Hell are happier therethan they would be in this world, for in Hell theirawareness turns to God, while in this world theyforget. Nothing is sweeter than the awareness <strong>of</strong>God. Therefore, their desire to return to thisworld is to work and carry out deeds so that theycan witness the manifestation <strong>of</strong> Divine grace, notbecause this world is a happier place than Hell.Hypocrites are consigned to the lowest place inHell, because they were shown the faith but theirunbelief was stronger. They did nothing with thegift they were given. Their punishment is moresevere so they can become aware <strong>of</strong> God. To theunbelievers, faith never came. Their unbelief isnot as strong, and so they become aware throughless punishment. Between pants with dust uponthem, and a carpet with dust, the trousers onlyneed one person to shake them a little to becomeclean, while it takes four people shaking the rugviolently to rid the carpet <strong>of</strong> its dust.
