A study <strong>of</strong> visitors to Rio Gr<strong>and</strong>e National Forest (52% <strong>of</strong> whom listed hiking as theirprimary activity) estimated that each individual spent $567.93 for lodging, $319.44 forfood <strong>and</strong> drink, <strong>and</strong> $168.44 for transportation per visit.
