Oneimportant communications channel was an interactiveblog, which was updated continuously throughout theproject period of nearly 2½ years. The blog enabled thegeneral public to contribute to the dialogue and had manypostings per day.75scholarships were awarded during the year.Alliance for educationSince 2005 Skanska has collaborated withCimientos, a foundation in Argentina thatworks toward equal educational opportunitiesfor everyone. Skanska gives high priority tosocial investments that focus on educatingnew generations in many of the communitiesin Argentina where Skanska operates. InArgentina, schooling is a particular problemfor children and young people who comefrom socio-economically less fortunatefamilies and many of them quit as early ascompulsory school level. It was thus naturalfor Skanska’s social investment program inArgentina to focus on education.Since 2005 the program has awardedscholarships to students in the municipalitiesof Cutral Co, Cipolletti and Río Gallegos toenable them to complete their studies. During2011, 75 scholarships were awarded andSkanska strengthened its school involvementin Argentina.
