<strong>Kinross</strong> <strong>Gold</strong> Corporation<strong>Maricunga</strong> <strong>Mine</strong> <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Report</strong>16.1.3 Column Leach TestsResults of <strong>the</strong> bottle roll tests were used to target specific areas of <strong>the</strong> deposit with <strong>the</strong> HQdiameter drill holes that were used to collect <strong>the</strong> sample material necessary <strong>for</strong> column leachanalysis. Composite samples were collected from whole HQ diameter core that was drilledspecifically <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> metallurgical test program. A total of 10 HQ diameter holes (1,500 meters)of core were drilled at Verde <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> purpose of column leach tests. An additional seven (7)samples were collected at Pancho but unlike <strong>the</strong> Verde samples, <strong>the</strong> Pancho samples weretaken from remaining half cores available at <strong>the</strong> time of sample selection.For <strong>the</strong> Verde samples, column tests were established <strong>for</strong> three different product sizes (6.3,9.5 and 15.8 mm). The same sample selection matrix established <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> bottle roll testsguided column leach sample selection. Grade of <strong>the</strong> HQ diameter core was confirmed bycutting a sliver sample <strong>for</strong> each two-meter interval.
