Above <strong>the</strong> 4300 elevation, controlled by <strong>the</strong>second rosette, <strong>the</strong> rock mass was considered to be wea<strong>the</strong>red and <strong>the</strong>re<strong>for</strong>e slope angleswere shallower. <strong>Gold</strong>er recommended an inter-ramp angle of 38 degrees. More recentgeotechnical work by A. Karzulovic and Associates Ltda. of Santiago (April 2007) indicatethat <strong>the</strong> angle in <strong>the</strong> volcanic material above 4300 m elevation could be increased to 43degrees.
