Impacts would be experienced in thevicinity of works sites. During removal works, visible elements would include work sites, machinery and equipment, waste materials and the structures undergoing removal. The viewers who would experience a change in their visual environment are generally likely toview the works from a short distance. The removal works would be viewed within the context ofa highly developed and dynamic urban environment, where construction and associated worksare frequent occurrences. This feature, together with the transient and temporary nature of themajority of works, would minimise the potential significance of the visual impacts during theremoval period. There may also be potential for some light spill impacts associated with lighting required to carryout night works. However the CBD is generally well light during the night, and additional lightingrequired for the removal works would not result in a significant increase in light spill events. Inaddition, directional lighting would be mounted so as to avoid any direct light spill into sensitivereceivers such as residences and hotels.96 | GHD | Transport for NSW - Monorail Removal Project REF
