Theremoval methodology for this station requires particular attention, as the bridge is a significantand important structure, listed on the State Heritage Register. This work component wouldinvolve:• removal <strong>of</strong> all structural steel elements that are part <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Monorail</strong> facility• make good <strong>of</strong> bridge deck and waterpro<strong>of</strong> membrane• removal <strong>of</strong> hydraulic machinery platform• re-support <strong>of</strong> the centre pivot walkways following removal <strong>of</strong> structural steel• removal <strong>of</strong> block seats on the bridge deck which contain the beam lifting rams and makegood• removal <strong>of</strong> all electrical elements pertaining to the <strong>Monorail</strong>• relocation <strong>of</strong> ‘stop don’t walk’ signs from pier columns• relocation <strong>of</strong> fluoro lighting on machine deck• termination and potential removal <strong>of</strong> submarine cabling supply power to the <strong>Monorail</strong> (orelements <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Monorail</strong>)• removal <strong>of</strong> control circuits for the <strong>Monorail</strong> only• conduct operational and test plans <strong>of</strong> control circuits following removal <strong>of</strong> equipment• removal <strong>of</strong> all hydraulic components pertaining to supply <strong>of</strong> power to the powerpaks• drainage <strong>of</strong> all hydraulic fluids• relocation <strong>of</strong> pedestrian and cycle signage currently located on <strong>Monorail</strong> columns• make good on steel to be suitably corrosion protected if any existing elements areaffected by <strong>Monorail</strong> removal process, e.g. fixtures and fittings.This work component would involve six phases, described in the following section:• Phase 1 – Preparations• Phase 2 – Initial work• Phase 3 – <strong>Removal</strong> works above deck• Phase 4 – <strong>Removal</strong> works below deck• Phase 5 – Clean up and make good• Phase 6 – Return cabin to original location5.6.1 Phases <strong>of</strong> workThe removal activities would be carried out in a number <strong>of</strong> phases:Phase 1 would involve the following preparatory activities:36 | GHD | Transport for NSW - <strong>Monorail</strong> <strong>Removal</strong> <strong>Project</strong> <strong>REF</strong>
