– Detours associated with road closures would route traffic by the most direct routepossible around the road closure, in most cases by not more than a single city block.– Closure <strong>of</strong> the Western Distributor would be undertaken for one carriageway section ata time, and traffic would be rerouted through the Sydney CBD.– Traffic generated by work component 2, 3 and 4 removal works would access thework sites via the most direct route from the arterial road network to the work site.• The following transport services measures would be implemented:– Bus routes affected by the road closures during work component 2 would be reroutedto alternative routes, with temporary bus stops erected along the route andappropriate signage indicating the temporary closure <strong>of</strong> existing bus stops anddirections to temporary bus stops.– Consultation with Transport for NSW Accessible Transport Advisory committee wouldbe undertaken to determine notification requirements for bus route changes toaccommodate people with disabilities.– Bus stops that would be affected by lane and footpath closures during workcomponent 2 would be relocated to alternative locations (replacing existing parking ifrequired) with appropriate signage to indicate the closure <strong>of</strong> the bus stop anddirections to the temporary bus stop.– During weekend possessions <strong>of</strong> the Sydney Light Rail corridor, a replacement shuttlebus service would be put in place.– Consideration <strong>of</strong> alternative commuter transport services would be undertaken inconsultation with Transport Services Division <strong>of</strong> Transport for NSW to ensure thatplanning is in place to accommodate any increase in demand for existing publictransport services as a result <strong>of</strong> the proposal.68 | GHD | Transport for NSW - <strong>Monorail</strong> <strong>Removal</strong> <strong>Project</strong> <strong>REF</strong>
