• Sydney Entertainment Centre: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 would need to be scheduledaround the Entertainment Centre to ensure that works do not conflict with events at theentertainment centre.• Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 would need tobe scheduled around the Sydney Exhibition Centre and Convention Centre to ensure thatworks do not conflict with the ‘bump-in’ and ‘bump-out’ periods for special events at thesefacilities.• Liverpool Street: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 would require closure <strong>of</strong> section <strong>of</strong>Liverpool Street (between Harbour Street and Pitt Street) and George Street (at PittStreet) that may coincide with late-night trading for restaurants, pubs and clubs in thisarea. Local traffic management plans would include plans for patrons to safely accessthese businesses during night works.• Liverpool Street Pedestrian Bridge: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 would require theclosure <strong>of</strong> the southern pedestrian bridge from Liverpool Street into Darling Harbour.Pedestrian traffic would be required to use the northern pedestrian bridge on the oppositeside <strong>of</strong> Liverpool Street for the duration <strong>of</strong> the phase 1 works at this location.• Pitt Street south <strong>of</strong> Market Street: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 and work component 5would require alternative pedestrian access to late trading businesses including the HiltonSydney Hotel and the Arthouse Hotel. Local traffic management plans would includeplans for patrons to safely access these businesses during night works.• Market Street between George Street and Pitt Street: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2would require alternative pedestrian access to late trading businesses, including theSwissotel and the State Theatre. Works would need to be scheduled to ensure that theydo not conflict with the ‘bump-in’ and ‘bump-out’ period and events at the State Theatre.Local traffic management plans would include plans for patrons to safely access thesebusinesses during night works.• Market Street Pedestrian Bridge: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 would require temporaryclosure <strong>of</strong> the pedestrian bridge connecting Market Street and Pyrmont Bridge.Pedestrian traffic would be required to reroute to the Druitt Street footbridge or use theescalators from Cockle Bay to access Pyrmont Bridge. Access may also be providedthrough the Darling Park development, although this is unlikely to be available outside <strong>of</strong>business hours.• King Street Shared Path: phase 1 <strong>of</strong> work component 2 may require temporary closure <strong>of</strong>the shared path connecting King Street and the eastern end <strong>of</strong> Pyrmont Bridge.Pedestrian traffic would be required to reroute to the Market Street footbridge and use theescalators from Cockle Bay to access Pyrmont Bridge.• Convention Centre and Harris Street Car Park Bridge: The pedestrian bridge thatconnects the Sydney Convention Centre with the Harris Street car park at ConventionStation would need to be closed prior to demolition <strong>of</strong> Convention Station. Pedestrianswould need to use the pedestrian bridge to the north that connects Harbourside shoppingcentre with the Harris Street car park.• Powerhouse Museum pedestrian bridge: The pedestrian bridge that connects thePaddy’s Markets Station and the Entertainment Centre carpark with the PowerhouseMuseum and Ultimo would be maintained.If access cannot be safely provided, alternative arrangements would be made in consultationwith the affected businesses.GHD | Transport for NSW - <strong>Monorail</strong> <strong>Removal</strong> <strong>Project</strong> <strong>REF</strong> | 65
