Due to the limited engagementrange of the coax, half-scale targets are placed at half the engagement distance; forexample, when a 1,200-meter engagement requirement exists, a half-scale target is placedat 600 meters. Gunners must use the actual straight-line distances when engaging targets(600 meters for a replicated 1,200-meter target).8-34
