EVALUATION TEAMThe evaluation team consists of one officer who is the planner, another officer, and onenoncommissioned officer who actually evaluates the overall tactical performanceof a platoon.a. Senior Evaluator. The battalion S3 is responsible for the development, design,and execution of the exercise, with the assistance of the battalion master gunner. Thebattalion commander or his representative determines the overall training assessment ofthe section.b. Platoon Evaluator. One captain with battery-command experience shouldevaluate the platoon leader on overall collective task completion and mission success andconducts the platoon after-action reviews.c. Assistant Evaluators. A sergeant or staff sergeant with squad leader experienceshould assist the evaluator. Each crew has one assistant, who observes overall crewperformance, leader tasks, vehicle actions, and fire control and distribution; he also helpswith live-fire safety. He assesses the crew during evaluation and provides feedback tocrewmembers during the AAR. To evaluate the Stinger dismounted position of the drill,the assistant evaluator must be Stinger certified.d. Allowable Variations. The battalion commander may add friendly targets toadvanced gunnery tables. He may modify the types of tasks IAW unit METL. In theabsence of a moving target, a stationary frontal target of the same type and at the samerange is used. If a stationary target is used, target conditions must be adjusted.11-8. PREREQUISITESEach crewmember must have qualified on the BGST (in the position he is occupying)within the previous three months. Reserve component crewmembers must have qualifiedon the BGST within the previous four months. All crewmembers must have qualified byposition on either Linebacker or Bradley Table VIII within the previous six months. Allcrewmembers must have completed Stinger Crew Tables I through VIII.11-9. REFIRES FOR QUALIFICATIONA section that fails to qualify must refire the failed engagements, but only until they earnenough points to qualify. The highest rating that a refiring section can obtainis "Qualified." Battalion commanders decide whether to accept alibis. The battalioncommander only accepts alibis under the following conditions:• Target failures or weapon malfunctions.• Equipment failures not the result of crew error.• Unsafe conditions not related to the firing vehicle.11-10. <strong>BRADLEY</strong> TABLES IXA AND IX, SECTION PRACTICEFiring the Section Practice 2 portion of Bradley Table IXA and of Linebacker Table IXprepares the sections for qualification. This is the first time that the squads function11-6
