EQUILIBRATOR TESTWhen the ISU reticle is laid on target in power mode, the aiming point should not changewhen the gunner releases the palm switches. If when he releases the switches the sightand the gun drop, then the weapon might have a faulty equilibrator. This test followsboresighting and the backlash test. Turret and gun select levers remain on POWERduring this test.a. Using the gunner's handstation, align the ISU reticle with the ISU cross onthe panel.b. Release the palm switches.c. Notify unit maintenance if the ISU circle and ISU cross fail to align after thegunner releases the palm switches. Either a faulty equilibrator or a faulty gun elevationbrake can cause the weapon to fail the equilibrator test.B-21. DRIFT TESTDrift is tested after the equilibrator test. Switch settings and vehicle conditions are thesame as at the end of the equilibrator test. With stabilization on, the gunner depresses thepalm switches. The BFV remains stationary throughout the test, and the 25-mm and coaxreticle may drift away from the aiming point no more than 0.1 mil per second. To conducta 5-second drift test--a. Turn stabilization on. Stabilization indicator light should come on.B-39
