TEFI TCA – id. code 3919The experience of consultancy with immigrants gave life to theproject “Extra Competenze (skills)” in which public and privatesubjects participate, among which the Municipal of Genoa with itsrelevant contribution.The general aim is to develop the level of utility of the educationalqualifications, skills and professional experiences acquired andmatured, that is, to prevent the immobility and professional isolationof the immigrants.To this end there has been a focus on the identification andreconstruction of their skills, using as a reference the portfolio ofskills together with the other interventions. This dossier represents amemorandum for the recuperation and recognition of the skills, aswell as a collection of experiences for an evaluation in comparison tothe outside world.The project is divided into various phases.Preliminary phase. The agencies propose the itinerary with thesupport of the planning team. Following the identification of the user,an entrance interview is held that includes the analysis of theapplication and the formulation of the reciprocal duties of the userand the consultant.Compiling of the Portfolio. In a few interviews, information iscollected on the training and professional experience, which allows fora definition of the professional profile and the formulation of theskills. This information is put together in a structured file.Engineering of the certification. This is an occasion for developing thework of research and comparison, for recognition and evaluation ofthe professional profiles. The bodies that can certify the profiles areFinal report 133
