The project is in accordance with the Policy ofhealthy way of living of employees, whose basic elementsare: health preventive activities, recreational activities,competitive activities and cooperation with the sports’institutions.Preventive health activities for the purpose ofimprovement of the employees’ health condition• 5000 brochures “<strong>NIS</strong> vision of healthy life“ wereprinted and distributed• More than 30 texts were published in the printedand the electronic, both internal and externalmedia, with topics which support the slogan ”I livehealthy“• Activities for the purpose of education ofemployees on healthy way of living (a seminar onhealthy life, degustation of healthy food, medicalcontrol tests, group picnics in nature)Recreational activities for the purpose of creationof better team cooperation and positive workenvironment• Recreational activities are provided in 8 cities withmore than 80% of employees living in them• The activities are realized with more than 30contracts with various service providers• Recreational activities are realized in more than10 sports• For the first nine months, nearly 20% ofemployees got involvedSports competitions were organized for thepurpose of creation of a team spirit among the employeesand the promotion of the Company values•At four international competitions in Russia andSerbia, more than 300 employees participatedwith significant results• At three internal competitions of theorganizational units, nearly 800 employees wereengaged• <strong>NIS</strong> sport teams participated in 2 local swimmingcompetitions, skiing cup, handball tournamentand the trade union sport competition• <strong>NIS</strong> employees were also engaged in externalbusiness leagues in several cities throughoutSerbia in the following sports: football, basketball,sport shooting, bowling and table tennisImprovement of the image of a socially responsiblecompany through cooperation with the sports’institutions• Cooperation with the Provincial institution forsports and sports medicine through variouseducational activities• Cooperation with the Basketball Club Partizan,Football Club Crvena Zvezda and Volleyball ClubVojvodina for the purpose of promotion of sports• Cooperation with corporate clubs for the purposeof education of employees through variousactivities and promotion of sportsSafety and health of employeesThe nature of business activities in oil industry requiresa high degree of occupational health and safetyprotection and represents one of the priorities and prerequisitesfor the Company’s success. For realizationof as efficient as possible and top-quality protection ofemployees at work, the Board for health and safety ofemployees was formed within <strong>NIS</strong>, and the appropriateinternal acts were adopted, which enabled easier implementationof the Collective Agreement in this areaof business activities. Continual elevation of the safetylevel and regular monitoring of health of employees is,among other, enabled through systematic examinationsand constant health control of workers workingat activities under the special working conditions.Personnel selectionPersonnel selection is a process which, togetherwith the change of management and the ownershipstructure of the Company, is established upon completelynew conceptual bases, with the primary goal tobe in correlation with the new mission and strategy of<strong>NIS</strong>, and to contribute their realization. With significantinvestments for realization of the highly set objectives,<strong>NIS</strong> also needs highly qualified personnel, which hassufficient knowledge and experience in special technologiesregarding production, refining and sales of oiland oil derivatives. Due to this, the personnel selectionis a process which is constantly revised and improved.New rules of personnel selection are implemented forall positions within the Company, from the managingpersonnel to the positions far lower at the hierarchyladder. A special attention is given to the fact that thequality of young specialists, coming to <strong>NIS</strong>, should beat the highest possible level. One of the key projects ofprovision of young high-quality experts is the project ofcooperation with the Universities.„<strong>NIS</strong> chance <strong>2012</strong>“Within its corporate social responsibility, in <strong>2012</strong>, byrealization of its own program “<strong>NIS</strong> chance <strong>2012</strong>“, <strong>NIS</strong> hadcontinued the tradition of young people employment programs,initiated in 2010, whose scope is getting greaterin time. The purpose of the program is employment ofyoung people graduating from the University or a secondaryvocational school, without any work experience in agiven profession, who shall, by their knowledge, energyand ideas, as well as by their readiness for constant learningand improvement, strengthen our Company, whoshall give them the opportunity to gain the first work ex-124 • Human Resources Annual report <strong>2012</strong>Annual report <strong>2012</strong>Human Resources • 125
