With the aim of promotingthe music tradition and folk creation in Serbia, and,accordingly, tourism, culture, and customs, NISsponsored "Trumpet Virtuosos" concert, staged by thebest Serbian trumpeters and led by Dejan Petrovic andDejan Lazarevic.• "Belgradization of Belgrade" manifested throughnumerous programs. During the summer, it wasorganized in Terazije replica from the thirties of thelast century. The Belgrade graduating pupils alsoparticipated in the manifestation.• NIS received credit for excellent organizationof "Sterijino pozorje" - the most significant Serbiandrama and theatre festival. This year as well, severalperformances were staged at NIS theatre stage in theNovi Sad Business Center.• International children's folklore festival"Licidersko srce" was held in Uzice, Kosjericu, NovaVaros, Zlatibor, and Visegrad. The audience enjoyedin the dance of 800 performers and more than 20folklore assemblies from Spain, Poland, Turkey, Greece,Hungary, Canada, Belorussia, Republika Srpska, andSerbia.The aim of "Science and Young Talents" programrepresents a support to scientific and research activities,as well as to the development of the scientific potentialand talented students.• Cooperation with the two largest universities inSerbia - in Belgrade and Novi Sad, for the purpose ofunifying of scientific theory, research, and businesspractice. The cooperation includes scholarshipsfor the most successful students, apprenticeshipin the Company, further improvement of Companyemployees, acquisition of new knowledge andimplementation of joint scientific and research projects.• Pursuant to the Cooperation Agreement betweenNIS and the Belgrade University, the Memorandumon Cooperation between NIS and the Faculty ofOrganizational Sciences was signed. The commoninterest and potential of partnership reflects improvedaccess to information and student knowledge onbusiness processes, as well as an improved contactthrough practice and opening possibilities to themost successful student to continue their career atNIS. The new aspect of cooperation and continuouscommunication with students will enable practice forstudents in the Company. Concurrently, guest lecturesof NIS experts will be arranged, as well as assistancefor preparation of research and diploma thesis, trainingprograms, and joint projects.• For four successive years, NIS has beena financial sponsor for program activities of theResearch Station Petnica, taking into account itsrelevance for development of the scientific and culturalliteracy, education in Serbia. During previous years,over 100 programs with more than 2000 applicantswere successfully implemented in Petnica, such as:seminars, caps, summer schools, including "One Stepinto the Science" Research Work Conference.Humanitarian projects represent one categorywhich implies assistance and support to people in need.• The Long-Term Cooperation Protocol wassigned with the Serbian Orthodox Church, implyingimplementation of humanitarian projects. Thiscooperation will enable NIS to assist preservation ofOrthodox churches in Serbia, which have a cultural andhistorical significance, and thus support preservationof tradition and spiritual values in this region. NISassumed the obligation to give the Serbian OrthodoxChurch a part of the territory of Pancevo Oil Refinerywhere Vojlovica Monastery is situated.• In the Easter action "Love Heals", the funds werecollected for NAPCC - National Association of Parentsof Children with Cancer. The funds will be used foradoption and furnishing of the parents' house in Nis,which is to serve as the home for children treatedagainst the difficult illness, as well as to their parentsfor the period they are staying with their children in thecity. This action belongs to philanthropy actions, dueto the majority response of employees who donatedmonetary contributions.Projects within "Cooperation for the Purpose of Development"aim to strengthening of partner relationshipwith the regions where NIS performs its business activity.• The annual agreement on the strategiccooperation with the Autonomous Province ofVojvodina was signed, covering also activities in thefield of ecology, economic development, improvementof the investment climate, and resolution of socialproblems in the local community. Within the scopeof the Agreement with the Autonomous Province ofVojvodina, the supplementary agreements were signedwith the following cities/towns and municipalities: NoviSad, Pancevo, Kikinda, Zrenjanin, Novi Becej, Kanjiza,and Zitiste.
