In addition to the already undertaken measures toreduce emission of pollutants (installation of fixed roofswith the floating membrane on tanks, reconstruction ofthe tank and rail loading terminals, installation of thevapour recovery system), the activities are targeted atthe implementation of projects aimed at the reductionof nitrogen oxide emission in flue gases in Refineries,in particular, implementation of the water-heavy fueloil emulsion production and combustion system.The hydrogen sulphide (H2S) emission is plannedto be reduced by increasing the hydrogen sulphide conversionpercentage at the existing Klaus unit from thecurrent 95% to 99.9% at the new Klaus waste gas treatmentunit within the construction of MHC/DHT unitsin Pančevo Oil Refinery. The construction of new unitwill result in gases being transferred from the existingKlaus unit to the new unit, where the conversion willamount to 99.9%. In 2012, the oily wastewater treatmentseparators were installed at 9 petrol stations. Theultimate expected effects are treated wastewaters freeof the hydrocarbon phase and solid particles releasedinto recipients. The completed first phase of the reconstructionof oily sewage in Novi Sad Refinery primarilyprevents further soil and groundwater contaminationand significantly affects the efficiency of the operationof wastewater treatment units and its quality.In Pančevo Oil Refinery, the project-related activitiesultimately targeted at the reduction of pollutantsinto wastewaters have been launched.
