AnRS232/485 converter must be connected between the PCand the drive. The Clear Text Display module is suitable forthis purpose.Following installation, the “Buskon” program must be called todefine whether one or more drives is connected to the PC.For each connected drive, the drive type must be selectedfrom the hardware directory and the bus address must matchthe value programmed into P091 in the drive.DesignationCANbus ModuleOrder No.6SE3290-0XX87-8CB0Table 5.9:CANbus Ordering information5.8 Control and Commissioning withSIMOVIS (Option)The SIMOVIS drive commissioning software operates underWindows 95 or NT and can be used to configure theMICROMASTER, MICROMASTER Vector and MIDIMASTERVector drives.SIMOVIS offers the following benefits:• Access from the same PC to one or several drivesconnected to the same serial bus.• Storage of parameter sets on the PC.• Control and monitoring of the drives.• Simplified, text-driven, access to all parameters within thedrive.• Upread and download of entire parameter sets.• Off-line configuration for altering parameter sets stored onthe PC hard disk drive without a connection to the drive.• Interface to the S7 Manager to allow configuring of driveson a PROFIBUS DP* link within an automation system.The minimum recommended PC specification for operation ofSIMOVIS is a 90MHz Pentium unit with 32MB of RAM, 200MBhard drive and WINDOWS95 or NT4.0.Siemens DA 64 – 1998/99 (04/99) 5/7
