Bhagavan, We offer the results of the Sai Care Programme, carried out as our Humble offering to Bhagavan in conjunction with Bhagavan’s 85 th Birthday. The Sai Care Programme was carried out by your devotees as an offering of Love, and as our contribution to Humanity & Nation Building. It is meant as a Programme of Permanent Benefit to Society, to assist Malaysia’s hardcore poor and benefiting society through Educare, SocioCare, MediCare and Environment Care. SAI-CARE An Offering for Humanity and Nation Building 1. Introduction Social Action Initiative - An Offering for Humanity and Nation Building - 1. Overview of Sai Care The Sathya Sai Baba Central Council, as part of its ongoing programme to promote the consciousness of human values and community service launched the Social Action Initiative (S.A.I.) Care Programme in August 2008. This programme involves the implementation of Spiritual Projects, Humanitarian Community Service Projects and Education in Human Values Projects over the two year period 2008-2010, as our offering for humanity and nation building in conjunction with Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 85th birthday in 2010. The SAI CARE PROGRAMME is a major project which aimed to bring about changes in the individual, the community and the nation, a vehicle to help devotees to transform their lives to reflect Swami’s message. 2. Foreword As part of the Sai Baba Central Council of Malaysia’s ongoing contribution to nation building and in line with our effort to promote the consciousness of selfless service and human values to society, we launched the SAICARE Programme in August 2008. The SAICARE Programme comprised two main categories: (a) Humanitarian Community Projects (b) Human Values Projects One of the primary approaches of the SAICARE Programme is to involve as many people, especially the youth of society, who are the future leaders of our nation, in selfless community work and in activities that can help raise awareness of the importance of human values. This is the only way for us to create a caring society and to help fulfil Vision 2020. “Establishing a fully caring society and a caring culture social system in which the welfare of the people will revolve around a strong and resilient family system and not around the state or the individual.” Malaysia’s Vision 2020
