Johor: Dog Shelter to House 30 Stray Dogs Project Location: Kampung Sungai Plentong, Plentong, Johor SAI-CARE An Offering for Humanity and Nation Building Josephine and her uncle look after about 50 to 60 stray dogs full time. They have been rescuing these dogs and have given them a new lease of life. They built a make shift shelter for the dogs which was destroyed in a heavy thunderstorm so there was no proper shelter for the dogs in the estate. A dog kennel in the form of a long-house with 7 individual cells was completed. The kennel was built in the Sg. Plentong palm oil plantations where the 30 stray dogs are looked after by Josephine and her Uncle on a voluntary basis. Josephine requested a shelter for the dogs from the sun and rain and also from humans that have ill-treated these dogs all their lives. After seeing the condition of the dogs and the sincere selfless love that Josephine and her Uncle have for these strays, we simply could not refuse.

Introduction Routine Medical camps are conducted all over Malaysia by various Non- Governmental organizations. The specialist medical camps under Saicare project is introduced with the intention of screening for diseases among the underprivileged human population with follow up of the referred cases, recording of patient satisfying criteria and the self transformation assessment system of the people who were involved in the above mentioned specific project. This was designed as a system of health care which fosters a cooperative relationship among all those involved, leading towards optimal attainment of the physical, mental, emotional, nutritional, social and spiritual aspects of health to achieve balanced well being and good lifestyle values. 2. Objective 1. To reach out to the poor and needy for their health related problems 2. To create health awareness among underprivileged and less fortunate men, women and children 3. To bring the above problems to the attention of the Ministry of health by submitting the survey forms and the relevant reports 3. Implementation • Identify a proper Geographical area • Plan your ideas inclusive of Process Flow Chart of delegation of duties. • Conduct the above as per Responsibilities & Requirements • Review all the patients and participants feedback data • Report to Sathya Sai Central Council and Authorities if necessary • Supporting documents like registration forms and referral letters should be kept in the respective centres. • Acts, Regulations, Licences or Permits should be obtained and checked. • Applies to all the Centres and Units under the Sathya Sai Central Council of Malaysia. • The specialist medical camps initiated at any specific centre should be considered as a regional activity whereby all centres should send enough workforces towards the success of the programme. • All services are provided free of charge to all patients and free medicines are also offered specifically to poor patients.
