1. INTRODUCTION
Organ donation can be a difficult subject to think or talk about. Most people do not
want to contemplate their own death. Nor do bereaved relatives find it easy to
decide on donation of the organs of a loved one who has just died. The same goes
for the doctors and nurses who may have fought to save the patient’s life.
2. OBJECTIVES
To create the awareness that every Malaysian is eligible to donate their organs on
death.
Once a person has pledged his organs, it is the relatives’ moral responsibility to ensure
that on his/her death, the pledged organs are extracted by the authorities with least
delay.
3. EXPECTED OUTCOME
1. To have information on the benefit of organ donation cascaded to the general
public
2. To have collected at least 8500 organ donations pledges as a gift for Bhagawan
Baba’s 85 th birthday celebration on 23 Nov 2010
3. Each state to pledge 850 organ donation by 23 Nov 2010
4. PROJECT OUTCOME
A Target of 8,500 pledges was set, to be obtained during the SaiCare Project period.
As at the end of the SaiCare Project Period , a total of 7,413 organ donation pledges
have been received, and the details are as below:
