3. Objectives
SAI-CARE
An Offering for Humanity and Nation Building
The SAI-Care Programme had a three-pronged aim to bring about:
(a) Positive Changes in the Individual
(b) Resulting in a harmonious Community and
(c) A peaceful and prosperous Nation
These objectives are also in line with those of Malaysia’s Vision 2020:
“Establishing a fully caring society and a caring culture social
system in which the welfare of the people will revolve around a
strong and resilient family system and not around the state or
individual”.
Malaysia’s Vision 2020
In addition, the specific Projects under the SAICare Programme each had their
own specific objectives. These are described below.
A. Spiritual Projects
1. Chanting of Gayathri Mantra
All devotees were to undertake this personal sadhana as an offering to Swami
for His physical wellbeing and to minimize world suffering. The awareness of
the power of prayer would be enhanced among devotees, thereby
increasing the devotees’ consciousness and the “Constant Integrated
Awareness” of Bhagavan’s presence. Eventually all devotees would have
cultivated the habit of daily prayer, which is part of the First Code Of Conduct,
as a personal sadhana.
2. Stress Management – Public Meditation Sessions
• To create awareness on the practice and benefits of meditation
and thereby encourage devotees and public to practise
meditation.
• Experiencing peace of mind as part of natural phenomenon, while
facing the challenges of day to day life at all levels.
3. Journey to Sai
By this self-evaluation exercise, it is hoped that all will radiate His Divine Love at
all times and realize He is the indweller within all. Thus, at the end of 2010, in all
the Sai Centres it is hoped to have at least twice the number of devotees we
currently have.
Devotees will also be able to gauge their spiritual progress on a periodic basis,
thereby helping them to keep moving forward in their sadhana.
