1. INTRODUCTION
Group Activity is one of the five teaching techniques in the Sai Spiritual Education
programme. Working together in a group aids in the development of a child's ability to
better understand the subject matter taught in the class.
The nationwide competition under the banner – National Human Values Action Song
Competition will be in line with this. Each Sathya Sai Baba Centre/bhajan unit/EHV
class will initially conduct competitions respectively to choose their representatives.
This will be followed by a State level competition. Top two teams from each state will
then compete at the National level.
2. OBJECTIVE
To promote and project Human Values among SSEHV children and the community in
general, as a step to stem the decline in Human Values which is leading to a host of
problems for all nations: - drug addiction, lack of respect for parents, promiscuity, etc. In
addition, the self-confidence level of children will also be raised through exposure in such
programs.
The specific objectives of this activity are as follows:
• To encourage children to learn and imbibe values through value songs.
• To develop confidence and sense of ease in interpreting meaning of value
song selected.
• To encourage children to use language and gestures as vehicles to express the
meaning of the song sung.
3. EXPECTED OUTCOME
Children would have better understanding of working together as a team. They will realize
the importance of harmony to be successful in life. Cultivate the ability to value and
understand another person’s view and at the same time to express his/her view with
courage. Children would exhibit self-confidence with humility and the application of human
values in everyday living.
