SAI-CARE
An Offering for Humanity and Nation Building
The SAICARE Programme was a two year programme organised in conjunction with
the 85 th Birthday of Bhagavan Sathya Sai Baba.
The SAICare programme involved the implementation of several service, human
values, spiritual and youth projects over two years as our offering for Humanity and
Nation Building. SAI-CARE focused on two important aspects. They were:-
Integration
Each project was to be driven by multi-racial teams headed by a Project Leader
who reported to the respective Wing leader. The programme involved not only
members of the centres but also the public. The programs offered were to be taken
as an opportunity to connect with :
a) Inter –religious groups
b) Ethnic associations
c) Community leaders
d) Residents’ associations
e) Institutions of learning
Hence through this integration the vision that a Sai centre should blend and integrate
with the community could be achieved. Through our sincere efforts in this
programme, Sai centres would become instrumental in triggering and expanding
consciousness by enabling public participation.
Internalization
Whilst it was important to achieve the intended target for all the respective projects
within SAI-CARE programme, the more important aspect was to continuously dwell
on the inner significance of the projects, the purpose and the transformational
experiences one could have by engaging in these worthwhile projects. It is necessary
to continue focusing our attention on our inner consciousness. We should have
constant feed back sessions through healthy satsanghs to gauge our inner
transformation. An evaluation form for self assessment was provided for this purpose.
This evaluation form presented questions such as
(1) How often do you get angry ?
(2) How earnest are you in wanting to learn, imbibe and practise Swami’s teachings ?
(3) How often do you meditate ?
and many others, for discussion and feed back. This spiritual dimension of the SAICare
project is the most important aspect of the programme. The transformational
experiences of members of the organization or centres who have gained during this
programme was documented including the miraculous nature on how the universe
responds in achieving the targets.
The 2 “I” s of the programme : Integration and Internalization would be the two eyes
that would provide a refined vision to achieve what Bhagavan Baba says:
“If a wave of service sweeps over the land, catching everyone in its enthusiasm, it will
be able to wipe out the mounds of hatred, malice and greed that infest the world”.
