SAI-CARE
An Offering for Humanity and Nation Building
4. Yathra to Prashanti (2011) – Practising Swami’s Teachings
To undertake a physical journey to Prashanti, in conjunction with Swami’s 85 th
Birthday, to offer at Bhagavan’s Lotus feet the Projects carried out under the
Sai Care Programme over the 2 year period 2008-2010. This will be symbolic of
the inward journey that devotees would have travelled through their
participation in the various Sai Care Projects.
B. SocioCare Projects
1. Community Adoption Program
• To provide relief and help in the eradication of hardcore poverty.
• To assist in the economic and social upliftment of the residents in poor
areas.
• To provide education support for the youth & children.
• To promote better neighbourliness – a spirit of caring and sharing amongst
the residents.
• To promote inter-racial and inter-religious harmony amongst the residents.
• To promote family unity – i.e. greater bonding and inter-action between
parents and children (teenagers and young adults).
• To promote healthy and wholesome activities for the youth.
• To promote the awareness of the importance of Traditions, Religion,
Aspiration and Culture (TRAC) in overcoming the social ills of today.
Our strategy should be to give the residents what they need so that they
would want what we want to give them. Our attempt was to see if we could
bring the residents, especially the youth, into a value oriented lifestyle so that
they become useful to themselves, their families and the community.
In the process, participating devotees should be able to develop love and
care for their fellow man, and through this, spiritual upliftment.
2. Shelter Project (Rebuilding dilapidated homes of the poor)
This project seeks to provide material and willing hands to repair the roofs and
walls of 85 houses for the benefit of the poor and needy, to provide adequate
shelter and protection from the elements. Devotees participating will be able
to develop love and empathy through this service.
