1. INTRODUCTION
a) Daily meditation and prayer is the first of the Nine Point Code of Conduct given by
Swami to his devotees.
b) There are three stages in meditation, which is concentration, contemplation and
meditation.
c) Due to time constraints, the Light Meditation as currently practiced in Centres /Bhajan
Units allows just enough time for concentration and contemplation only. There is
insufficient time for stage three, which is meditation.
d) Awareness on what is meditation and the three stages of meditation must be created
so that devotees can practise this first code of conduct with understanding.
e) Devotees should also be given an avenue to ask questions, clear doubts and
experience practical meditation sessions.
2. OBJECTIVE
1. To create awareness on the practice and benefits of meditation and thereby
encourage devotees and public to practise daily meditation.
2. Experiencing peace of mind as part of natural phenomenon, while facing the
challenges of day to day life at all levels.
3. IMPLEMENTATION
a) Conduct nine Public Meditation Workshops nationwide, one in each state, for the public
and devotees.
b) Centres and Bhajan Units in each state are to jointly organize these Public Meditation
Workshops in their respective states and publicise the workshops to the general public
through distributions of fliers, personal or formal invitations, through newspaper columns,
etc.
c) This programme will be for a duration of five and a half hours inclusive of tea break.
d) States are to identify a suitable venue, preferably with air-conditioning to keep out
unnecessary noise and with multimedia support facilities.
e) A standard flier containing the main details with provision to change details like venue,
date and time has been prepared.
f) To organize a ‘Meditation Retreat’ towards the end of year 2009.
g) Probable locations identified are:-
a. Buddhist temple complex near Rawang where the SCA event was
held.
b. Chinese temple complex at OUG, K.L.
h) Centres and Bhajan Units are to promote and foster meditation among devotees by
encouraging weekly group meditation sessions on a separate day in a week.
