The <strong>Health</strong>care Innovati<strong>on</strong> Platform excludes:<br />
• Specific drugs, surgical or medical procedures or<br />
practices that need evaluati<strong>on</strong> through Randomized<br />
c<strong>on</strong>trolled trials or Systematic Reviews.<br />
• Incomplete Documentati<strong>on</strong> of innovati<strong>on</strong>: For any<br />
innovati<strong>on</strong> to be reviewed the document should<br />
include adequate informati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> process, human<br />
resource and infrastructure need, capacity building<br />
strategies, cost, challenges and less<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
inclusi<strong>on</strong> criteria<br />
• The programme or product innovati<strong>on</strong>s are relevant to<br />
existing health care needs of the populati<strong>on</strong> specially<br />
those who are disadvantaged and marginalized.<br />
• The programme and or product innovati<strong>on</strong>s address<br />
locally endemic health problems and or diseases.<br />
• The programme and or product innovati<strong>on</strong><br />
facilitates better health care reach to people in terms<br />
of accessibility including its reach to rural areas,<br />
tier II and tier III urban settlements, affordability<br />
including potential to reduce cost of care, quality<br />
inclusive of safety of a healthcare product or process<br />
and equity with special c<strong>on</strong>siderati<strong>on</strong> to groups<br />
including those identified in (I).<br />
• The programme or product innovati<strong>on</strong>s bridge a<br />
crucial specialized skill gap required in delivery of<br />
health services.<br />
• Innovati<strong>on</strong>s, which meet criteria for uniqueness<br />
of logic of initiative, system based approach, likely<br />
impact <strong>on</strong> the health status of the populati<strong>on</strong> and<br />
scalability.<br />
evaluati<strong>on</strong> of innovati<strong>on</strong>s<br />
Based <strong>on</strong> i) Strength of evidence; ii) Scale of Coverage;<br />
iii) Impact; and iv) Replicability & C<strong>on</strong>textual fitness - all<br />
innovati<strong>on</strong>s in this compendium have been categorized<br />
as Emerging Innovati<strong>on</strong>s OR Established Innovati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />
While Emerging Innovati<strong>on</strong>s call for larger pilots,<br />
already established innovati<strong>on</strong>s are suggesti<strong>on</strong> for<br />
uptake and scale up <strong>on</strong> priority.<br />

<strong>Health</strong>care systems have experienced a<br />
proliferati<strong>on</strong> of innovati<strong>on</strong>s aimed at enhancing<br />
life expectancy, quality of life, diagnostic and<br />
treatment opti<strong>on</strong>s, as well as the efficiency and<br />
cost effectiveness of the healthcare system.<br />
Informati<strong>on</strong> technology has played a vital role<br />
in the innovati<strong>on</strong> of healthcare systems. Despite<br />
the surge in innovati<strong>on</strong>, theoretical research <strong>on</strong><br />
the art and science of healthcare innovati<strong>on</strong> has<br />
been limited. In order to achieving target goals<br />
of Nati<strong>on</strong>al <strong>Health</strong> Missi<strong>on</strong> and to make health<br />
more accessible, affordable, safer and equitable;<br />
there is a need to identify, evaluate and scale up<br />
innovati<strong>on</strong>s. This compendium of innovati<strong>on</strong>s<br />
is collecti<strong>on</strong> of best practices in various states<br />
in India and is being shared for the purposes of<br />
disseminati<strong>on</strong> and scale up.<br />
