1 Market developments<br />

1.1 Incumbent<br />

1.1.1 Actual roll-out<br />

� Illustrate the current status of <strong>NGA</strong> roll-out in your country. Consider the following aspects<br />

- name of the operator and applied technology (e.g. FTTH GPON, FTTH P2P, FTTB,<br />

VDSL, Cable);<br />

Romtelecom – the strategy for developing its <strong>NGA</strong> network is based initially on<br />

FTTC/FTTB+VDSL deployment and in later stages on FTTH based on GPON technology.<br />

So far, FTTH take-up is very limited.<br />

- current coverage of the network and number of <strong>NGA</strong> lines (passed/connected). Please<br />

provide figures as of June 30 2010;<br />

As of June 30 2010, out of the total number of <strong>NGA</strong> lines in Romania, comprising of<br />

FTTC/FTTN(VDSL services), FTTB/UTP/FTP, FTTH and DOCSIS 3.0, the incumbent<br />

provides broadband services on 1.87%.<br />

- available retail services (e.g. product name, type of service (e.g. triple play), bandwidth,<br />

price level, price structure).<br />

Retail services include both PSTN (fixed and mobile) and VoIP(fixed) telephony services,<br />

broadband services (ADSL, VDSL, FTTH, mobile), TV (IPTV). The tariff for the 30 Mbps<br />

internet access service “Clicknet Power” is 7.32 EUR (including VAT), while the triple play<br />

offer (broadband, voice and IPTV) starts from 20.21 EUR (including VAT).<br />

1.1.2 Announced roll-out plans<br />

� Has the incumbent announced roll-out plans for <strong>NGA</strong> networks? For which period? When<br />

answering this question consider the aspects addressed mentioned in 1.1.1.<br />

The strategy for developing its <strong>NGA</strong> network is based initially on FTTC/FTTB(VDSL)<br />

deployment and in later stages on FTTH based on GPON technology. No recent<br />

announcements regarding specific roll-out plans for <strong>NGA</strong> network.<br />
