6 Symmetrical regulation based on national legislation<br />

7 National next generation broadband initiatives/ measures<br />

� Illustrate the main content of initiatives/measures aiming at promoting next generation<br />

broadband. 4 Consider the following aspects:<br />

According to the broadband strategy adopted by the government in 2009, the national<br />

target is that 40 % of households should have access to broadband providing at least<br />

100Mbit/s in 2014 and in 2020 90 % should have access to the same. Some financial<br />

support for rolling out fibre in areas with low population density.<br />

- Main focus of the initiative/measure (e.g. providing broadband in currently underserved<br />

areas; outlining the regulatory approach towards <strong>NGA</strong>s networks in order to provide<br />

legal certainty and planning security for operators; providing transparency );<br />

- Scope and envisaged target of the measure;<br />

- Current achievements, milestones reached.<br />

4 This may be initiatives/measures adopted by the government. Where appropriate you may also<br />

refer to NRAs’ strategies aiming at the promotion of next generation broadband.<br />
