TRAVELLIVE 01-2016

Dear Travllive’s readers, On these first days of New Year 2016, cheerful melodies of Tet have been played everywhere, marking the arrival of Lunar New Year. Lyrics of old traditional songs have their own power to call back my memories as if I was just a child happily singing the songs with my friends day by day when Tet was coming to town. When I was studying at university, I had two Tet each year, one for patients and the old in social protection centers and one for my family.

Tet is the most important occasion in the Vietnamese calendar and is a great time for
everyone to explore new lands and relax in their favorite destinations. These tips and
advice will help you prepare for the holiday and start the year cheerfully.
PACK LUGGAGE AND
SELECT SUITABLE OUTFITS
After finalizing the destination
you are going to visit, you
should choose suitable outfits
depending on climate and
geographical features of the
location. Wide brimmed hat,
swimsuit and sunscreen for
sunny beaches; warm clothes,
thick scarves, gloves and hiking
shoes ... when visiting highlands
to contemplate the beauty of
blooming flowers. If you intend
to visit your relatives during
your trip, do not forget to
wear elegant clothes. Bright
colors such as red, yellow and
orange will bring you more
luck and happiness during the
first days of the year.
Bring personal documents such
as ID cards, passports, and
birth certificates for children
and keep them safe during the
trip. You can also get copies
of these documents and keep
them separately in case you
misplace the originals. To
ensure that your holiday will
not be interrupted, you should
bring some kinds of medicine
for common illnesses. If you
start your journey on the two
first days of Tet, some snacks
and drinks will be necessary
since restaurants are likely to
be closed during these days.
FIND SOMEONE TO
TAKE CARE OF YOUR
HOUSE
It would be better if you ask
your relatives or neighbors
to look after your house
when your entire family is
away. Switch off all electric
devices and appliances in
the kitchen before leaving.
Give your phone number
to your neighbor so that
they can call you as soon
as possible if something
comes up.
SEND YOUR PETS TO
“HOTELS”
Many families spend
their Tet holiday visiting
faraway destinations with
long journeys. However,
don’t forget that lovely
puppies, cute cats and
witty parrots also want to
“enjoy the holiday” and
need to be cared for. You
can ask your friends to find
reliable hotels for pets,
veterinary clinics and pet
centers. Cost, reliability
and quality of service are
the most important criteria
to be considered. Prices
will depend on your pets’
weight and needs as well as
how “fastidious” they are.
Remember to book a place
in advance as these “hotels”
are often “full” during the
holiday period.
PREPARE TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMMODATION
During Tet holiday, there is a dramatic increase in the demand for
transportation, air tickets, train tickets and hotels . You had better plan
your holiday with details such as times and places. Buy tickets and book
hotels in advance to ensure reasonable prices. You can visit ivivu.com and
other charismatic comparison websites to enhance your choices. Do not
miss chances to enjoy privileges offered by hotels and resorts this season.
We wish you a happy Tet holiday with memorable experiences.
