En diciembre, James Blunt, muy dado
a bromear consigo mismo, escribió en
Twitter: «Si pensaste que 2016 fue malo,
que sepas que lanzaré un nuevo álbum
en 2017». En enero, el creador del tema
You’re beautiful volvió a la carga: subió a
la red social un vídeo en el que, desnudo
en una bañera, le decía a sus fans: «Tengo
algo enorme que enseñarte», y tras
un movimiento de cámara mostraba
la portada de su nuevo álbum, The
Afterlove. Ahora acaba de lanzarlo a la
venta. Aunque esta forma de promocionar
su trabajo es ingeniosa, a Blunt no le hace
falta: el británico ha vendido 20 millones
de copias de sus cinco discos anteriores,
y para este ha reclutado, incluso, a su
compatriota Ed Sheeran, fabricante de
megaéxitos como Thinking out loud.
Auguramos que sonará hasta la saciedad. /

thought 2016 was bad, I’m releasing a new
album in 2017.» In January, the creator of
You’re Beautiful went at it again, uploading
a video of himself naked in a bathtub to
the social network telling fans, «I’ve got
something huge to show you», before the
camera moved down to show the cover
of his new album, The Afterlove which
has just been released. Although this way
of promoting one’s work is clever, Blunt
doesn’t need it: the singer has sold 20
million copies of his five albums and even
recruited fellow countryman Ed Sheeran
for this one. We bet it will be played ad
nauseam.
