Flying to Havana on a Dreamliner and enjoying
a unique in-flight experience is now a reality
with Air Europa; since 8 March, the company’s
sixth Boeing 787-8 has been operational on the
route to the Cuban capital.
Air Europa’s latest Dreamliner touched down
for the first time in Havana and was received
by the authorities, who thanked the airline for
making Havana the destination for its best aircraft.
The President of Air Europa, Juan José Hidalgo,
was also on board the B787’s first flight
and expressed his satisfaction at the expansion
of the Dreamliner’s network of destinations
with Cuba, thereby consolidating Air Europa as
the leading airline between South America and
the Old Continent.
The Dreamliner, which seats 296 passengers,
of whom 22 travel in Business and 274 in Economy
class, is especially designed for long-haul
flights and has a shorter estimated flight time,
matching times to the new flight plan.
The Boeing 787 combines exceptional environmental
performance, which translates into
lower fuel consumption and much lower emissions
than any other aircraft of a similar size,
with maximum comfort, which means passengers
enjoy a unique in-flight experience.
Havana is the fifth destination added to the
Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet’s network and
in June, Air Europa will also add Lima, which
it will begin to operate with company’s latest
two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. Thereafter,
the long-haul fleet will be renewed and
modernised with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Air Europa will receive a total of 14 of this latest-generation
aircraft model, which will be
added to the company’s fleet progressively
until 2022.

This new measure is one
of the improvements the
airline has included in its inflight
services as part of the
outstanding commitment it
has made in its Business class,
where long-haul passengers
can also enjoy creative
and avant-garde dishes by
renowned Spanish chef
Martin Berasategui (awarded
with eigth Michelin stars). Air
Europa has also reconfigured
business class with new flat
bed seats in three of its
Airbus 330s.
