INTELLECTUAL INTELLIGENCE Intellectual intelligence, measured often by an intellectual quotient, or IQ test, is considered a precursor to academic success. When people speak of achieving high grades on tests or a research project, this is the intelligence that is automatically assumed to be used during the process. Indeed, intellectual intelligence is essential for adequate performance in fields heavily based on logic and reasoning, such as the sciences, mathematics, and even business. After all, a certain level of capability is required to close business deals, manage finances and engineer the best ways to attract customers. What is crucial about this intelligence is how it works in the network of your intelligences. Clearly, all three intelligences are used regularly in everyday life. But your Intellectual Intelligence possesses your cognitive skills which include your ability to think, read, learn, remember, reason, and pay attention. 113
