• DNP3 SCADA tables
• DNP3 events
• DNP3 comms
• DNP3 network

• PDS status
• Load IEC 61131-3 ISaGRAF application
The following panels show the setting up of a PC to perform configuration of an RTU.
Note that the configuration is being carried out over the operating communication network
using the DNP3 data and file transfer capabilities.
The DNP3Config software connects and communicates to an RTU via the PC’s serial
Com port.
The communication setup between your PC and the network can be edited by selecting
the icon below, or selecting View Options from the menu bar. The ‘DNP3 Options’ popup
will then be displayed.
The Com Port refers to the computer’s serial port that is connected to the PDS. The
default Port Baud Rate for connection from a PDS to DNP3Config is 9600 bps.
Target DNP3 Address is the software DNP3 address of the RTU you are to communicate
with. This address must be known in order to communicate with the RTU.
The Application Layer Timeout is the number of seconds DNP3Config will wait for
a reply to any command it sends out before signaling a ‘message timed out’ error. This has
a default setting of 24 seconds which is usually sufficient for communicating with a local
