timeout can be increased to allow the PDS to retry communications if the first attempt is<br />

unsuccessful due to the network being busy.<br />

Local DNP3 Address is set in the Advanced Settings. It is the address of your PC<br />

running DNP3Config, <strong>and</strong> is usually a unique number allocated to each person/PC.<br />

RTU type<br />

The particular RTU type may be selected to allow RTU specific characteristics to be configured.<br />

This popup menu is accessed by the ‘RTU Types’ button on the ‘DNP3 Options’<br />

popup.<br />

You will notice all the HWT RTUs that can be configured. To minimize confusion <strong>and</strong><br />

error, select the required RTU type to be configured. Note that only the tabs for the<br />

configuration windows relevant to the selected RTU will be available.<br />

The communication ports are setup as required.<br />

RTU ports <strong>and</strong> modes<br />

Multi-port RTUs have the ability to interface to different devices. These devices may be<br />

radios, PLCs, modems or other HWT RTUs.<br />

The Port Function allows the RTU ports to be configured for the following functions:<br />

• DNP3<br />

• ISaGRAF<br />

• PLC Device<br />

• ISaGRAF-User<br />

(DNP3 communications I/O e.g. radio, RTU)<br />

(Uploading <strong>and</strong> monitoring of ISaGRAF program)<br />

(PLC Port e.g. Modbus, Direct, Koyo)<br />

(ISaGRAF serial comms special function)
