Overview<br />

This exercise is to show communications between a Citect master station <strong>and</strong> a DNP3<br />

RTU device, using a protocol analyzer to observe transmissions.<br />

Hardware needed<br />

Laptop running Win98<br />

RS-232 to RTU cable<br />

Hunter WaterTech 500 RTU<br />

Software needed<br />

Citect<br />

Config from Hunter Watertech<br />

DNP3 Citect drivers – DNPDriverV10406000<br />

Citect DNP3 project – DNPC500.ctz<br />

Citect.ini – This is information needs to be added to the existing Citect.ini in the Citect<br />

directory<br />

Hardware setup<br />

• Connect up PC to RTU Port 1 with supplied cable<br />

• Connect power supply to the RTU<br />

Software setup<br />

Run the Hunter Watertech Config software.
