Catford Green, London SE6
Witherford Watson Mann
The guiding design principle for the
architects’ vision at Catford Green was
for the architecture to respect and
calmly blend with its surrounding
landscape. This was achieved in
a number of ways: by supporting
existing mature planting with new
indigenous species and letting the
landscape lead the design of the
spaces between the buildings. We see
these choices as sympathetic to this
extraordinary landscape.
The landscaping and public realm
approach set out to enhance the
provision of public amenity space with
additional trees and planting, enhance
connectivity with Ladywell Fields and
improve the public realm experience.
