1. A Higher Certificate (Level 6) in a<br />

relevant field.<br />

2. An equivalent qualification to a Higher<br />

Certificate (Level 6) with appropriate<br />

pre-requisite subjects.<br />

What is the programme about?<br />

This one year add-on programme accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)<br />

prepares the student for a career as a Health and Safety Technician.<br />

Graduates will be key members of the construction team who are responsible for ensuring that site operations<br />

are executed in a safe and efficient manner. They will work as a member of the Health and Safety department<br />

of a construction company, to assist the company’s Safety Officer in ensuring the construction operations are<br />

carried out in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and the company’s Health and Safety<br />

Policy.<br />

Who is the programme suited to?<br />

The programme is suited to students who wish to work in the construction industry in Ireland or abroad.<br />

Sustainable Building Services 2, Construction Law and Supply Chain Management, Advanced Construction<br />

IT, Safety Technology, Legislation and Safety Management, Health and Safety PED (Project Evaluation and<br />

Development), Sustainable Construction Tech.<br />
