The Department of Business is dedicated to providing you with the relevant knowledge, skills
and competencies to deal with the real world challenges you will face in the world of business.
We offer programmes in Limerick, Thurles and Clonmel leading to qualifications in Accounting
& Finance, Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Law & Taxation, Marketing and Management at
Higher Certificate, Degree and Honours Degree levels. All of these programmes also provide a
solid foundation if you wish to pursue further study at a professional level, including
examination exemptions with a number of professional bodies. We are extremely proud of our
students and their long track record of achievements, both academic, extracurricular and in
the world of business upon graduation.
Business students participate in the nationally renowned MarketLink programme each year.
This programme forms part of the student assessment across a range of modules including
marketing, sales and finance. Students benefit from input from the Hartnett Enterprise
Acceleration Centre which assists students working in groups to identify a new business
opportunity, along with developing, marketing and selling the product at the LIT Charity
Christmas Fair on the ‘main street’ of the campus at the end of November each year. All
profits go to local charities selected by students, with over €10,000 being raised so far.
