Water Scrubbing (Particulate Matter) Control Wet Scrubber Filtration Residual Exhaust Acid Absorber Scrubber NO x and SO 2 are removed with scrubbers by rearranging the atoms. However, a small fraction of the N and S molecules are absorbed by the H 2O vapors in exhaust and is transformed into HNO 3 and H 2SO 4, Nitric and Sulfuric Acid.
